Police Arrests Russian Hacker in Prague Suspected of LinkedIn Breach

Earlier this month, the FBI in collaboration with the Czech police arrested a Russian national in Prague. The Russian hacker is now alleged to exist the one involved in the hacking of LinkedIn in 2022, that resulted in massive data dumps in the dark web.

Czech police appear that they had arrested a Russian denizen suspected of launching cyber attacks on the United states of america. The proclamation came after the United states accused the Russian regime of hacking ballot offices and political organizations to influence the 2022 US Presidential election. Many had believed that the accused was connected to the election hacks. Nevertheless, the 29-year-former is now suspected of hacking LinkedIn in 2022 that exposed data of about 117 million users. The latest data comes from LinkedIn itself, which released the following statement:

Nosotros are thankful for the difficult work and dedication of the FBI in its efforts to locate and capture the parties believed to be responsible for this criminal activeness.

Following the 2022 breach of LinkedIn fellow member information, nosotros have remained actively involved with the FBI's case to pursue those responsible.

Russian hacker suspected of LinkedIn alienation, not election hacks

It is still unclear if the arrested Russian hacker is indeed the one behind the alias "Peace," who dumped the hacked information on the dark spider web. If he indeed is the same person, so the FBI would be having a field mean solar day as "Peace" is besides involved in several other hacks. Peace sold leaked information of some of the mega breaches, including MySpace, Tumblr, VK.com and others on the dark web.

Czech authorities have now to take the decision if they volition extradite the suspect to the United States. Russian Tass and RIA Novosti news agencies are reporting that Moscow is trying to go the hacker back in Russia. Prague's Russian embassy spokesperson, Alexey Kolmakov said "Russia repudiates Washington'southward policy of imposing its extraterritorial jurisdiction on all countries. We insist that the detainee is handed over to Russia."
